The joint venture team will be responsible for program management during the first phase of the Etihad Rail project and part of the two subsequent phases.
For stage 1 of the Etihad Rail project's Shah-Habshan-Ruwais route, AECOM will be responsible for the entire project implementation from the preliminary engineering to testing and commissioning, as well as a defect liability period once the project is complete.

The railway will connect the United Arab Emirates to Saudi Arabia via Ghweifat city in the west and Oman via Al Ain in the east.
